Basic Invite // Planning My Sister's Wedding
Earlier this year, Basic Invite asked if I'd like to collaborate with them. This came at the perfect time, because my sister got engaged last summer and her wedding is coming up this September! I'm not photographing her wedding, in case that question popped into your head. ;) Especially since it's in the middle of my busy season, I'm looking forward to just relaxing and celebrating the wedding with my family...and making a little speech (the only slightly stressful part)! You might remember my sister, Maggie, and her fiancé, Nick, from these two blog posts (one and two). I photographed them on a vacation near Boston a couple years ago, and then again for the engagement photos. They are just a sweetest and I am so happy they're together. Maggie is a professional actress in the DC area and Nick is a furniture maker in Baltimore. So when I saw that Basic Invite had wood invites, I excitedly sent a photo to Maggie and Nick. We easily picked a design from the options they had (honestly, all of them looked good) and customized it using the online software. I liked the fact that I could adjust small details like text location and font type/size, all within the coordinating fonts. They have so many other paper options, too, which made it hard to narrow down our choices before I saw the wood invites. Check it out if you're planning an important event soon!
