Brighton Dam Azalea Garden Portrait Photography

The Brighton Dam Azalea Garden is truly a hidden gem in the Howard County / Montgomery County area of Maryland. The Patuxent River is dammed to create the Tridelphia Reservoir. There is a new visitor center with easy parking right across the street from the garden entrance. This park is truly beautiful even when the azaleas aren’t in bloom, but early May is when the blossoms are usually at peak bloom! No photo permits are current required and there are many trails, mainly dirt and gravel, winding throughout thousands of azalea blooms and dozens of dogwood trees. It’s easy to find quiet corners to sit and take it all in, take photos, or have a picnic even when it’s a bit crowded, since the gardens span about 5 acres according to their website). Your might remember Claire and Evan from another recent blog post, where I shared the first half of their engagement photos, but I decided that the Brighton Dam Azalea Garden photos needed their own space on my blog! I hadn’t visited in about 4 years, and this park is special to me personally, as well as to Evan and Claire. It was an honor to walk around with them and photograph them snuggling up among all the blooms!
