Cozy At-Home Washington DC Family Photography

Spring is here in Washington DC and Maryland! Family photos have been filling up my weekdays this April and it’s been wonderful. I joined this family in their historic Washington DC home with their 6-month-old baby boy. He was full of smiles and loved the soft click of my camera. Shirley and Zach have such great style and I loooved everything in their home and baby’s room, especially the Sprout floor bed and their baby’s cute Hanna Anderson muslin romper (and yes, I know where they’re from because I have a similar aesthetic and I also asked Shirley during our session!). Once we went outside for the second half of the family photos at nearby Rock Creek Park, he even got to wear his aaaadorable matching hat :)

I love being a mom and have always loved kids, so family photography is a very natural extension of that comfortability and, of course, my photography work. I decided just before the pandemic that I wanted to work on a higher volume of family sessions and a few less weddings per year, and I’m happy to say it’s been working out really well!
