the direction of light

I have a beautiful wedding post coming later today! For now, I wanted to share these 4 photos. I’m giving Eliana weekly photo lessons this summer, and we stepped outside to take photos of each other and observe how the face looked in different light. It was overcast rainy and we were right beside the house, but I’d love to try this again on a sunny day! When I first started photography, it took me a while to figure this kind of thing out, because it was all based on observation and no teaching. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned photography, never forget to observe and absorb what you see. It’s a slower process at times, but you’ll never forget what you learn!
